so the main reason why i loved studying abroad in taiwan was that i was always fed really really well on our EAP field trips... this time, we went to CingJing Farms and HeHuan Mountains near central taiwan.
our box filled with breakfast goodies... i love carbs
our first stop was a restaurant... score!
i don't really remember why i took a pix of this...
foooooddd!!!
deep fried sweet potaters
juice with fish egg-like jelly...
maybe it was grass jelly...
this tree was outside the restaurant... the stump looks crazy ridiculous!
CINGJING FARMS
so many windmills here...
trying to be artsy... isn't working?
cing jing rock
castle?
sheep shearing show that we missed
rolling hills...so perty
i almost stole this lil guy
looks tasty!
they were all over the place
i try...
aren't i precious?
a fortress??
yes.. there are cars in taiwan as well... actaully i took this pix because of the welcome sign :)
CingJing had 3 smaller farms.... green green grassland
pastureland?
kare bear and i stumbled across a cute lil garden
:)
is it working now?
so colorful and peaceful!!! and i spot another windmill!
big mouth sheep! windmill!
flower windmill
back at the tourist center ... karen and i walked half an hour along a freeway getting back here
so cute! i was tempted to snag this as well...
charlie brown's christmas tree
yunnan sausages...mmm
we stayed at this motel for the night :)
where leedia, kare bear, and i caused our mischief for the night ...
kare bear was a bit exhausted... i guess she also claimed her bed
din din!
this place was so adorable... very European-esque
hot pot!!! fave
so this region of Taiwan is heavily influenced by rural European scenery... we woke up to this landscape... soooo pretty
i also really liked the look of the layering mountains... so i took a lot of these pixes. many of these pixes will look very similar :) but i took them all at different angles and places
in thee cabin-like dining area of our motel
some random house we passed by on our way to HeHuan Mountains
the beginning of our hike... the limo that brought us up
the first 3 minutes of our hike was the most intense
heheheheh... we all followed the "follow me" sign, shown on the bottom right corner of this picture
still following
mountain layers!
just keep swimming...swimming swimming....
hot stuff karen :)
a rest area
it was really sunny for a day in december
we were above the clouds :O
stopping to take some pixes
clouds
clouds...from another angle
??? is this a rocket launcher?
we made it to the tippy tippy top!
3416m up!
a well deserved break
ummm.... plants that grow on the mountain
so peaceful...waiting for everyone to come back down the mountain
on our way back to taipei... stop for food... i wasn't kidding about being fed well
mmmm
bamboo shoots w/ other veggies
so cute!
then we stopped at the taipei beer factory... which is really close to sun moon lake..
alcohol kegs lining the entrance
yup definitely tried that...
taro alcoholic popsicle = awesomeness! i would have brought one back for pu bear but it would have melted fsho!
is there vodka in there?
and then.. it was time to go back to the city and study for my finals :/
